The 2014 Honda Fit will probably have its first appearance at the Tokyo Motor Show at the end of the year.
This third-generation hatchback will have a completely new platform and an upgraded style. However, this small Japanese has been known ever since as Jazz in all the markets outside Japan.
Design of 2014 Honda Fit
As for the exterior, it will have the same platform as the new subcompact SUV (or, in other words – Urban SUV) and more trunk space -1 cubic feet more. It will be 2.4 inches longer, and therefore, there will be more free space in the cabin. With an increased wheelbase, it will be more than 14 feet long. The 2014 Honda Fit will feature diamond-shaped taillights and it will get triangular reflectors incorporated into its bumpers. As for the safety, it will include City Brake Active automatic braking system (which isn’t confirmed yet) and an accident-avoidance system that actives at speeds up to 18 mph.
Engine range for 2014 Honda Fit
Speaking of power train, the 2014 Honda Fit will be equipped with be a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that will be able to produce up to 117 horsepower, and a 3-cylinder petrol engine that will hopefully be able to spend a gallon of petrol on 80 miles. Nevertheless, there are some rumors about releasing the hybrid version of this Japanese vehicle. The goal of this auto producer is to fulfill all the requests in the field of emission and consumption reduction. There will be a choice between a standard five-speed manual transmission and a five-speed automatic transmission.
Price of 2014 Honda Fit
Price for the base version of the 2014 Honda Fit is estimated at $15,000. When it comes out on sale later this year, it will compete with its biggest rival –the Nissan Juke. Japanese car maker has an intention of selling more than a million of these hatchbacks in the future.
