2014 Hyundai Elantra release date and price

The 2014 Hyundai Elantra will have its premiere at the Los Angeles Auto Show this year in autumn, but it will come out on the market at the beginning of the next year.

This 4-door sedan will feature a revised hexagonal signature grille, updated fog lamps and more aggressive front bumper. The headlamps will also be restyled, with LED daytime running lights that will give the car even more premium look. Other facelifts in the 2014 Hyundai Elantra include restyled alloy-wheels, new tail lamps and updated tailpipe. As for the interior, some of the features are: OnStar like Blue Link telematics system, a rear-view camera, heated seats and GPS navigation system with travel information and real-time traffic.

Under the hood, the 2014 Hyundai Elantra will be powered by two engine options: the base 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine, and a new direct fuel-injected 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. However, it is possible that this vehicle will get the highly-potent 1,6L GDI turbocharged unit that is able to generate 201-horsepower and 195 lb.-ft. of torque. Also, there will be an option of standard six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. As far as fuel economy, the standard 1.8 liter engine will have an estimated rating of 30/40/34 mpg city/highway/combined for sedan. Nevertheless, the coupe will have slightly different ratings- 29/40/33 mpg with the manual and 28/39/32 with automatic transmission. Furthermore, the hatchback GT model will be rated at 27/39/31 with the manual and 28/39/32 with automatic. These figures place the Elantra among the most fuel-saving cars in that class.

The starting price for this attractive Japanese will go from $17,470 for the base model, up to $21,910 for the best equipped one. This estimated price is quite suitable considering what this new-generation car has to offer. When it appears on the market, it will compete with the upcoming next-generation Toyota Corolla and the recently restyled Honda Civic
